Certainty about planning and capacity, with the AFAS integration

AFAS excels in administration but offers limited control over planning and capacity. Timewax fills this gap with real-time insight into deployment and feasibility, while remaining the central source of truth without replacing AFAS.

The AFAS integration in practice

  • AFAS remains central

AFAS remains the central system for administration, HR, and finance. Timewax adds a planning and capacity layer that AFAS deliberately does not offer.
  • Insight into capacity

Where AFAS provides structure and documentation, Timewax helps you to see in advance whether work is feasible: do we have sufficient capacity, the right deployability and space in the planning to meet commitments?
  • All in one workflow

Together, AFAS and Timewax ensure a single, consistent flow: from reliable master data and administration in AFAS to real-time insight into planning, capacity, and feasibility in Timewax, without double entry and without replacing AFAS.

How does Timewax complement AFAS in concrete terms?

In practice, AFAS and Timewax operate as a single, logical process, each with a distinct role. AFAS provides the stable foundation, such as master data, projects, and administration. Timewax uses this foundation to provide real-time insight into planning, deployment, and capacity.

The planned and actual hours in Timewax can then be sent back to AFAS for reporting and invoicing. This way, planning and execution seamlessly integrate with your administration, without manual coordination or duplicate maintenance.

The AFAS–Timewax integration is designed to automatically synchronize all core data required for reliable planning and capacity management. Below, you can see how this works for each component.

Employees are created and managed in the AFAS HRM module. The integration ensures that these employees are automatically available as resources in Timewax, including their job title, department, and relevant characteristics. Changes are updated automatically.

Skills and levels you assign to employees in AFAS are synchronized to Timewax. These skills can then be used when planning projects and requesting resources, ensuring you always plan with the right skills.

AFAS manages contract hours, work schedules, and leave requests. The integration automatically syncs all absences to Timewax, ensuring employee availability is always accurately reflected in scheduling.

Scheduled hours in Timewax are processed in AFAS’s post-calculation. This simplifies time tracking: employees only need to check their time sheets and adjust them where necessary, saving time and reducing errors.

Yes. Employees can optionally log their hours directly in Timewax. After approval, these hours are automatically transferred back to AFAS, where they are immediately available for reporting and invoicing.
